The traces of National Socialism in Germany are omnipresent. Sometimes these traces take up a large part of our lives and sometimes they are ‘merely’ part of the environment in which our everyday lives take place. However, this does not make the traces any less visible once they have been recognised.
In this documentary, filmmaker and protagonist Adam Fried provides insights into his life as a descendant of Jewish immigrants to the USA and an American expat in Germany, trying to coordinate his family life across two continents. Everything comes together in Fried's passion for Jewish-American food and his dream of bringing a piece of home to Regensburg in the form of a kosher deli (gastro snack bar). Could the Colosseum, a former Flossenbürger subcamp, even be a suitable location for the deli?
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to chat to Adam Fried over a light snack.
